On March 19, 2022, in Hangzhou, unfortunately, it was the first time in recent years that I experienced a community lockdown due to the pandemic.
A close contact was identified in the community, and after consulting with medical staff, it was suspected that they might be infected with the COVID-19 virus. It came a bit suddenly, but it was somewhat expected, as there had already been a large-scale outbreak in Yuhang District not long ago. The place I live is right on the edge of Yuhang District, and it's hard to say what caused the transmission, but we have done our best to protect ourselves.
I had just moved here today, having rented an apartment with my partner in this community. The house-hunting journey had already been tough, and after unpacking my things at noon, I was ready to lie down and rest a bit. Then in the afternoon, I received the notice that the community would soon be locked down. I hurried out to buy groceries and daily necessities, stocking up for a week, which was sufficient for living, so there were no major issues.
In the evening, following the community's arrangements, I took a nucleic acid test while there were fewer people around and went downstairs to get some fresh air, feeling that life was still quite beautiful.
Although I felt quite depressed, this is a natural disaster, and I can only pray for this turmoil to end soon. I have also applied to work from home, which hasn't had much impact on my job.
In the evening, to alleviate my gloom, my girlfriend and I cooked two dishes together to pass the time.
One was spicy pig's blood, and the other was stir-fried vegetables with lean meat. It was better than I expected, but the flavor was a bit strong, which made me drink quite a bit of water. I hope my cooking skills can continue to improve!
Life is like this; you never know what will happen next. You can only adapt and live well, finding your own happiness!
