We have all experienced misunderstandings, doubts, and isolation, tasted the bitterness of unrequited love or various failures, and have had moments when we felt "everything was going wrong"... But after the sadness, we still believe that "everything will get better," and we still strive to turn the situation around—for the person we care about the most, or because of our deep-seated beliefs. Under the fragile wings constantly scraped by life, there is a strong skeleton. Xu Song takes the perspective of a crow, which has never been likable, and flies to the breath of the wilderness.

Life is nothing but a breath. If the breath does not stop, life and thinking will not cease. When people get used to living with masks, the joy of breathing freely becomes a luxury. Even more luxurious is the open-hearted and candid conversation, breathing in the wilderness, and expressing one's innermost thoughts. "The Breath of the Wilderness" starts with a cold color palette and depicts emotions and situations with ease and composure. The ten songs, like ten breath meditations, captivate the listener's full attention. Xu Song, in the interplay between imagination and reality, in the intersection of tenderness and harshness, in the switch between romance and fierceness, describes life and contemplation.

In "The Breath of the Wilderness," classical temperament and contemporary elements blend seamlessly. Xu Song has created a musical vocabulary that is different from his previous works, with both continuity and innovation. "The Breath of the Wilderness" is sincere, full, and rich in detail, allowing people to return to their innermost selves when they listen attentively.

To shoot album cover photos and music videos, Xu Song and a team of over twenty photographers ventured into the pristine forests rarely visited by humans on the plateau. Outside the tent curtains, there were wild bonfires, snow-capped mountains and rivers, and solitary travelers, creating a serene picture of the interplay between cold and warmth.

The 10 tracks of the album "The Breath of the Wilderness" will be released successively from May 7th to May 14th!

"Fake Fall"#

On a snowy crossroad, cars and people flow endlessly, yet it feels like a wilderness.

The story in the song may be a real-life image or a fictional text creation, but whether it is real or fake, just like the "real fall" and "fake fall" in the song, the judges have their own answers. But when we switch to the perspective of the protagonist in the story, only we know the falls and hardships we have experienced, and it is difficult to expect understanding from unrelated people.

"Fake Fall" is a narrative writing with Xu Song's unique mark, outlining the story with a few strokes in a very short space. Like a sincere and emotionally rich eyewitness, it takes you to the scene of the story without directly leaving its subjective evaluation, leaving it for you to experience on your own. The "fake fall" at the scene of the story and the "fake fall" on the football field and in the arena of life reflect each other, leaving plenty of room for imagination.

In terms of music, the electronic sound creates a mysterious atmosphere, full of visual impact, and draws people in. The song starts with subtle breathing sounds, followed by alternating imagery from the two singers, and unveils the veil in the chorus. Then, with a strange and eerie bridge section, it gradually builds up the atmosphere to a climax.

"Icebox"#

Xu Song + Huang Ling

When deep affection collides with determination

It is both a flashing spark

And a deadly coldness

"Icebox" takes inspiration from thrilling suspense movies and explores emotional relationships. On the surface, it is a cold and tense narrative, while inside, it is rich in meaning, advancing both internally and externally. Huang Ling, who previously collaborated with Xu Song on "A Brief Encounter," interprets the roles and emotions in the song with perfect understanding.

"Icebox" is composed and produced by Xu Song. The elusive electronic music creates a mysterious atmosphere, full of visual impact, and is captivating. The song starts with a hazy atmosphere and faint electronic frequency sounds, and the two singers take turns to present the imagery in a deliberate manner. The chorus unveils the veil, followed by a peculiar and eerie bridge section, gradually building up the atmosphere step by step to a climax.

"Sci-Fi"#

In the mind, memories and fantasies intertwine, both real and illusory
Love gives answers about love after the end

  • We entrust "Sci-Fi" with happiness

Xu Song's 8th self-composed album "The Breath of the Wilderness"
The fourth track "Sci-Fi" was officially released on May 13th

The song starts with a nebulous atmosphere and faint electronic frequency sounds, blending classical elements with R&B beats, allowing the heart and soul to follow Xu Song's emotions without being hurt.

Like a return to an innocent childhood dream, like a romantic fable of youth. The gains and losses of love converge into a vast wilderness in his songs and poems. When listening to "Sci-Fi," everything is in the mind, but everything has been left behind.

The ending drum beats, like a continuous heartbeat, like an endless breath, like love that never ends.

With a breath, reaching outwards, and with a breath, growing inwards, between each breath, Xu Song always insists on interacting with the audience through his works. In the 12 years since the release of his first album in 2009, Xu Song has been the sole lyricist, composer, singer, producer, and planner of 8 personal albums and nearly 50 original singles, constantly producing excellent works. After receiving high praise for his "Treasure Hunt Game" concert tour in 2019, Xu Song returned to a state of focused creation and once again demonstrated his powerful creative energy with the new album "The Breath of the Wilderness".
