2020 Annual Summary

The annual summary is an interesting thing (in my opinion). It allows me to calm down and review what I have done this year. I hope I can develop this good habit and summarize more.

I built this blog in the middle of the year and it has been almost half a year now. I haven't done much SEO optimization or thought about promotion. I just simply write some of my own things. The main reason is that my writing skills are too poor and I dare not let others discover it, haha.

I have had a fulfilling four years in college, learning things that I am interested in and cultivating hobbies such as traveling and hiking. However, I have only climbed Songshan Mountain (within Henan Province) because I studied in Zhengzhou. I haven't been to other famous mountains yet. I have set a plan for myself to climb Mount Tai within two years, but because of work, I dare not say that I will definitely have time in the short term. I want to experience the feeling of "standing at the top, overlooking all the mountains".

However, I feel that my college life ended a bit anticlimactically. Due to the epidemic, the school prohibited entry and only allowed students to return in batches shortly before graduation. Many classmates did not see each other and hastily ended their college lives. So the graduation photos that I have been looking forward to are also gone. Originally, I planned to take an interesting set of graduation photos with my friends. It is really the biggest regret of this year.

Leaving the campus, there are really fewer opportunities to meet. We mostly communicate through phone calls and videos, each going our own way and getting busy with life.

2020 is a memorable year. It started with the outbreak of the epidemic in January and has been spreading globally until now. Just a few days ago, I saw the news that the situation in the UK is getting worse, with the virus mutating and the city being locked down again. I really hope this epidemic will end soon.

I don't understand why the control measures in foreign countries don't seem to be as strict. Maybe this is what they call "yearning for freedom". I hope everyone on Earth can take it seriously and fight against the virus together to end this crisis as soon as possible.

This year, I came from Zhengzhou to Hangzhou and changed to a new environment. I have common goals with everyone at work and have learned a lot. But there are also some regrets. I originally planned to read two books, but in the second half of the year, I only read "The Self-Cultivation of Full-Stack Engineers" and "CSS World" by Yu Guo. I also wrote a book review recently, "Some Thoughts on Full-Stack" 《对全栈的一些思考》. Then in November, I bought "JavaScript: The Definitive Guide" on a certain online shopping platform, but I didn't finish reading it in the end due to lack of time.

Here, I set a small goal to finish reading four books in 2021.

In terms of technology, I switched from Vue to React. I have to complain here. React was developed by Facebook, while Vue was developed by Evan You. I feel that the thinking logic of writing in React is different from that of Vue. Vue's writing style is more in line with the thinking of Chinese programmers, while React is more in line with the thinking of foreigners. Since I am not a foreigner, I can't say what kind of thinking it is, but I just feel that it is harder to understand than Vue. But because of the company's reasons, I started to develop projects using React.

I hope to continue this in the new year, learning more technology stacks and doing better in the things I want to do.

I have been in Hangzhou for a while. This city looks young and vibrant, maybe because there are a large proportion of young people here. Occasionally going out to play, I can discover things that I couldn't find before and broaden my horizons. I have to praise the scenery of West Lake, it is really beautiful. Walking on the Su Causeway, feeling the breeze, I feel relaxed. When I am under a lot of pressure, I will go out for a walk. But it seems that traveling alone lacks some fun.

These two days are Christmas. Although it is a Western festival, I can also enjoy it. Here, I wish everyone a good ending in 2020, a perfect ending, and welcome the new year of 2021.

I took some time to write a simple summary, just like watching a movie, reviewing the plot and getting a different feeling.

Hello, myself, see you next year.
